Cedar Select Woodpecker House - Woodpecker nest box with a 2-inch entrance hole, filled with wood shavings. This house comes with shavings because normally these birds do not bring anything but feathers to the nest. All houses need to be cleaned out before the next season starts. We suggest doing it in the spring so the birds can roost in them during the winter. Only a few varieties of woodpeckers live in man-made boxes, the Hairy Woodpecker, Red-headed Woodpecker and the Red-bellied Woodpecker. This Woodpecker nest box features all cedar construction, stainless steel and dichromate plated screws. The box is hand sanded, assembled with screws, and coated with a non-toxic wood protector which accents the wood grain and the natural warmth of cedar. Handcrafted in the USA!
