Cylinders are black powder-coated aluminum alloy tuned to the standard orchestral pitch of A440. The secret is the thickness of the tubes and perfection of the quality control. The activity level is adjustable to your preference. These are wind instruments, not mere wind chimes.

They are available in 5 sizes with 9 scales, plus the Westminster and Basso Profundo. Smaller chimes have higher pitches; the larger the chime, the deeper the pitch. Chime sizes are designed so that their pitch ranges overlap and complement each other.

Alto Specifications:

• Altos use 1 1/2" diameter tubing.
• The longest tube is 28" long.
• Each windchime has 6 tubes, except Wholetone, which has 7 tubes.
• Tube outside diameter is 1 1/2".
• The overall length is 50".
• Altos weigh about 10 pounds (add one pound for Whole Tone).
• Windcatcher is 8 1/2" square.
