When I went into the Kentucky forests to record wild bird concerts, I never dreamed of finding a concert with such a variety of birds and other critters in attendance. You will hear whippoorwills, owls, wild turkeys, woodpeckers, doves, and at 1:02 on your CD, a deer snorting its objections to my presence. - Bill Chappell. 74 minutes in length. Sounds of Tennessee Mountain Birds & Creek CD
Sounds of Tennessee Mountain Birds & Creek CD. This wonderful recording of several different types of Tennessee Mountain birds, including wild turkey gobblers, all joining together for an early morning sing-along with a happy babbling brook singing backup and an occasional woodpecker doing a drum roll on a hollow tree, is the result of over three years of trial and error recording involving many different types of equipment and techniques. What you hear is exactly what came through the microphones on May 9, 2001 between 5:30 and 7:00 am. You can even hear a bee buzz by once in a while. The picture on the front of the CD is the exact location where this concert took place. If you can name any of the birds featured here, please let me know. This is our eighth nature CD, and though some birds are common to many areas where I have made nature recordings, each products has a unique overall sound of its own. This CD has some wonderful sounds of creatures that came within hearing distance of my microphone for the first time. They are as follows: wild turkey hen track 4; small squirrel tracks 12 and 13; mourning dove in flight track 2. These sounds appear in other tracks also.
