In the western hemisphere, Snowy Owls are found in Canada and the northern United States during winter months and in the far north even beyond the Arctic Circle during summer. White feathers from head to toe help adults blend in with wintry surroundings as they search for prey. They perch silently and still, right out in the open, looking for birds, waterfowl, rabbits, lemmings and mice. Snowy Owls hunt during the day and at night.
