The fabulous Hotel California is now available as the third in our line of Purple Martin birdhouses. This ten room, fully functional birdhouse is inspired by the main pavilion of the iconic Del Coronado Hotel. A San Diego landmark, the "Del" has welcomed Presidents, royalty and Hollywood celebrities for over 100 years. Our dramatic Victorian design with its signature red roof and peek-a-boo dormers is topped off with a cupola proudly flying an American flag. This house comes equipped with a mounting base with a sleeve for setting on top of a standard 4 X 4 base. This house may also be mounted using a heavy duty purple martin house pole and mounting plate. In order to attract Purple Martins, the recommended location of this house should be a combination of open fields and water. The house should be 12 to 14 feet high.

Using only the finest materials available with a painstaking attention to detail, this martin house is handcrafted of kiln-dried hardwood, exterior grade plyboard, and non-toxic oil-based exterior paint. With proper maintenance, this purple martin house will provide years of enjoyment for both you and your feathered friends. The back of the house unscrews for convenient seasonal cleanouts.

Note: This item has been finished with a non-toxic pure white oil-based paint. To preserve the natural beauty, we recommend applying a non-yellowing polyurethane finish over the paint.

Climate and the elements will weather the house and change its appearance over time; however, weathering will add to the house’s natural charm without compromising its function.

The Coates Heavy Duty Galvanized 3-Section Telescoping Pole and Ground Sleeve #HD12 fully extends to 12 feet (Above ground height). This heavy-duty pole features 16 gauge galvanized steel tubing. Base section is 2.197" diameter. Two safety bolts to lock system at desired height. Zinc plated thumb screws to hold pole at desired height. Pre-drilled holes to receive mansion base plate and thumb. Comes with Ground Socket. Hardware included. Use with any size Coates Purple Martin House or other bird house with the optional base plate adapter. Assembly required. Made in the USA!
