Conservation Goldeneye Duck House

A nest box sized just right for Goldeneye Ducks!

We make a habitat for every species of cavity nesting bird in North America. All of our products are correct for the species, easy to clean, well insulated and provide for the proper drainage. Every house includes an educational brochure specific to the species.

Common Goldeneyes breed across the forested areas of Canada, Minnesota, Michigan, Alaska and the northeastern United States. They are most abundant among lakes of the Canadian boreal forests, especially where lakes or deep marshes have substantial invertebrate populations. They are cavity nesters and have a strong homing tendency, often using the same cavity in successive years. Nests are usually located near a pond, lake, or river, but may be found in woodlands up to a mile from water. Female

Common Goldeneyes nest in natural tree cavities, abandoned woodpecker holes or nest boxes. Unable to excavate their own cavities, Goldeneyes are in constant search for good nesting sites. With a larger entrance hole than the Wood Duck House, this box comes with wood chips and a ladder to provide an ideal place for Goldeneyes to lay their eggs. A lower side guard protects the nest when the side is open for observation.  The entire side opens for cleaning. Quality Eastern White Pine construction. 4" opening. Made in the USA

Optional Extra Wood Chips 3 Bags/Pack (available at checkout).

These pine shavings provide an annual replenishment of nesting material for woodpeckers, ducks, owls, etc. Better than sawdust, which can mat down and retain moisture. Sold by the gallon bag for individual houses. 10-1/2" x 10-1/2"

Goldeneye House Dimensions:

24-1/4"h x 11"w x 15-1/2"d; 4" oval entrance hole
